We are proud to be a black owned and managed business. Learn more about Marisha and Lisimba Pink, cousins and co-founders of United Melanin Group, below.
Marisha is a creative entrepreneur with a huge passion for storytelling, the arts and using the internet to bring ideas to the world. Born and raised in London by a Jamaican father and an Indian mother, she is a lover of great books, musical theatre, food, travel, and all things Disney.
She has almost 15 years of marketing experience, specifically in branding, advertising and digital for some of the world’s biggest creative agencies, though she much prefers using her expertise to help start-ups and creatives within the community.
Marisha is a self-published fiction author who enjoys exploring the human condition and lived experiences through her stories. Her books feature protagonists of colour because she believes that writing such characters is instrumental to ensuring that roles are created on screen and stage for people of colour.
She is also the founder of Leaf and Latte, a new sustainable lifestyle brand that is preparing to launch its first collection of loose leaf tea blends.
Lisimba is an entrepreneur, creative and foodie. A born and bred Londoner of Jamaican heritage, he previously spent a number of years building his own businesses in Ghana, before moving back to the UK. His passion for these three things has led him to creating a number of brands and ventures since his return, including:
- The Diversity All Star podcast – a platform for successful entrepreneurs from diverse communities to share their stories, strategies and actionable advice with the next generation,
- The Black Food Club – a community brought together around food with the goal of inspiring people to be adventurous with African & Caribbean food through dining events and the Black Food Tales podcast, and
- The Juice & The Sauce podcast – a collaboration with Nastassja Lusengo, owner of The Indulgent Sugar Plum bakery, where listeners are given the low-down on life narrated through a love of food and, most importantly, dessert.
Lisimba also edits and produces The Tonkunbo Chronicles podcast, on behalf of award-winning entrepreneur Tokunbo Koiki, owner and founder of Tokunbo’s Kitchen.
